Our Story
How Hartsy evolved from a LoRA experiment to a creator-first platform

Origins
Hartsy began with HarroweD, an artist who created the Harrlogos model, trained on his own art and graphic design. It unexpectedly became the first model in AI capable of generating true custom, stylized text in images.

2Rethink and Rebuild
When the models got better we took a step back. We chose to rebuild Hartsy so that artists could use AI without needing deep expertise in training, programming, or machine learning. Users want to have fun using AI tools and they also want to support the creators and artists that make these tools possible.

3Building With Creators, Not Just For Them
The open source tools we put out aren't built in a vacuum. We work with artists and creators on them directly, and when their work goes into something we ship, they get paid for it. Not a mention in a changelog, actual money.

4Closing the Loop
Here's the plan: creators provide training data and sell their own work, models, and merch on Hartsy. We use that to build new models and tools, and every time those get used, we pay royalties back. Everyone who puts work in keeps getting paid when it keeps getting used.

5Free Stays Free
We also push people toward free and open source datasets, models, and tools when they're already out there, and GPU time too when we can spare it. Not everything good has to come from us.

6Today and Next
Hartsy is now growing into a community platform with an artist first approach and an open source mindset. We also release open source extensions for SwarmUI that are available today. More is on the way.
